Meet Lime Instruments

Lime Instruments is a Houston-based company providing leading-edge controls and instrumentation to the energy industry. The company was founded in 2006, by Jim Stewart III and his son, Rob Stewart. In 2012, Houston Business Journal deemed it the fourth fastest growing business in the city of Houston, and they were awarded the ‘Enterprise Champion’ in recognition of 613.4% market growth over a three-year period. Jim and Rob remain as principal owners, with Rob as the CEO. Not content to stand still and rest on its laurels, Lime has designed an integrated electrically-driven pressure pumping system and has pivoted production from their legacy control business to the manufacture of a reusable Powered Air-Purifying Respirator for use by first responders and healthcare workers during the COVID-19 crisis.

BoyarMiller Shareholder Larry Wilson and Jim Stewart met and began working together at Stewart & Stevenson Services, a company founded by Jim’s grandfather in 1902. Larry and Jim have traveled the world together; chasing deals from Brazil to South Africa to China to Australia.  Larry has known Jim’s son, Rob Stewart, from when he was in high school and worked at Stewart & Stevenson in the “Kiddie Corp”.

When Jim and Rob left Stewart & Stevenson and started Lime Instruments, they turned to Larry to help with legal matters.  “We have worked with Larry and the BoyarMiller team on almost every corporate, commercial, financial, and real estate issue imaginable.  They have been there when we needed them and provided practical and creative solutions.  It is a relationship that is more than attorney-client, they are trusted advisors,” said Rob Stewart.
