Shareholder Andrew Pearce Named Editor in Chief of The Houston Lawyer

HOUSTON – August 5, 2024 – BoyarMiller Shareholder and Litigation Group Chair Andrew Pearce was named Editor in Chief of The Houston Lawyer. The role at the bimonthly publication of the Houston Bar Association will last the 2024-2025 bar year.
“It is a true privilege to serve in this role. My hope for this year is to introduce our readers to stories that will be as interesting to them as they are to me and our board,” Pearce said. He added that “I have been fortunate to work with so many amazing former editors, and I will try my best to follow in their footsteps.”
Heavily active in the Houston Bar Association since 2010, Pearce served as Chair of the HBA Litigation Section in 2018-2019 and the Co-Chair of the John J. Eikenburg Law Week Fun Run Committee Co-Chair in 2012-2013 and 2011-2012, for which he received the Houston Bar Association’s President’s Award. In 2022-2023, Pearce received the Best Feature/Human Interest Story Award from the State Bar of Texas for his Recovery Stories article in The Houston Lawyer.
The appointment is the latest highlight in a career marked by service to his community while maintaining a robust practice focusing on non-compete and trade secret litigation, partnership disputes, and commercial litigation. For several years, Pearce served on the South Texas College of Law-Houston Alumni Association Board of Directors and on the Executive Leadership Team for the Paul “Bear” Bryant Awards.
Pearce has been named a Texas Super Lawyer since 2020. He is a Texas Bar Foundation Life Fellow and a Houston Young Lawyers Association Foundation Fellow.
