Associate, Litigation Group
Jacob Wirfel has experience in all stages of commercial litigation, including first-chair responsibilities in depositions and comprehensive trial preparation. Jacob held two summer clerkships in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas giving him a unique blend of knowledge and experience, essential for understanding the processes and procedures of the court.
He advises clients in a wide variety of industries, including oil and gas, alternative energy, healthcare, real estate, and technology regarding complex legal issues, including contract disputes, fraud, business torts, personal injury torts, lease and operations disputes, fiduciary matters, defamation, regulatory compliance, and novel renewable energy issues. He has specific experience in energy-related disputes such as the ERCOT litigation following the Texas 2021 winter storm.
Jacob earned his J.D. with honors from the University of Texas School of Law, and he distinguished himself among the top of his class. His educational foundation was laid at Texas Christian University, where he graduated magna cum laude with a dual major in Economics and Psychology, achieving Departmental Honors in Psychology. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
