BoyarMiller Founding Shareholder Bill Boyar Concludes Term as Chair, KIPP Texas Public Schools Board of Directors

HOUSTON (June 30, 2021) — BoyarMiller Founding Shareholder Bill Boyar has completed his term as Founding Chair of the KIPP Texas Board of Directors, which began in 2018. Previously, he served as Chair of the KIPP Houston Executive Board from 2015 – 2018, and held other positions since joining the KIPP Houston Executive Board in 2011.

Boyar has been an advocate of public education reform for many years and is guided by a desire for all children to have access to academically excellent schools. Through his deep commitment to KIPP he has impacted thousands of students in underserved communities in Texas by helping them attain a quality education.

Boyar accomplished much in his role as Chair, and one of the more significant achievements was leading the organization through a merger of KIPP schools in Houston, Austin, San Antonio, and Dallas to form KIPP Texas Public Schools, which currently consists of 59 schools serving approximately 32,000 students in Pre-K3 through 12th grade.

KIPP Texas Board members have recognized his work in leading the merger, as well as in succession and strategic planning. They point out the positive influence he had on the Board, noting his servant leadership and ability to make tough decisions while supporting the organization and its mission.
