When did you know you wanted to pursue a career in law?
I always knew I wanted to be a lawyer after my dreams of playing professional basketball were crushed in middle school when I stopped growing at 5’2.
What practice areas do you have experience in, and what aspects of it do you find most interesting or challenging?
I focus on general business and complex commercial litigation and represent individuals and entities in a wide variety of industries such as logistics, manufacturing and distribution, IT/telecommunications, aerospace and aviation, real estate management and development, and energy. Recently, I have been handling quite a few cases that involve obtaining or defending a request for injunctive relief. This typically means you have a short timeline to prepare your case before a hearing in front of a judge, which can be challenging, but also exciting. Other than that, I love learning about clients’ businesses and helping them find creative solutions to their problems.
Can you share a memorable experience that has shaped your career?
I will never forget winning my first oral argument in court. I was defending against a contentious summary judgment motion and arguing against lawyers who were much more experienced than I was at the time. I was so proud of myself and it helped build my confidence as a young lawyer.
Tell us something people might not know about you.
I am an avid sports fan and somewhat of an oxymoron given that I love the Houston Astros and the Dallas Cowboys (even though I’m a native Houstonian).
What is a favorite book, podcast, movie or restaurant you have enjoyed lately?
I am a sucker for any good true crime podcast or documentary series.
