Meet Erica Moreno

Tell us about your role at BoyarMiller.

I’m a legal assistant in Probate Litigation for one shareholder and two associates. I also help the probate paralegal with many tasks as needed. They can always count on me to coordinate and communicate with the client throughout the process. I enjoy keeping my team organized and cheerful even with complex cases.

What interests you about working in the legal field?

I’ve always been fascinated with the legal field since I was younger. After I graduated college in 2013, I landed a job at a law firm, and I found my passion of helping people in need in Probate and Estate. I went back to school in 2019 and obtained my Paralegal Certificate from Rice University. Now I’m doing what I love and compassionately helping clients that are in a difficult time of loss and grief.

Can you share a memorable experience that has shaped your career?

Some of my most memorable experiences in Probate Litigation are helping clients navigate through their loved one’s estate. Seeing clients have peace of mind and knowing that their loved one’s wishes were respected gives me the daily motivation to continue my best work. This drives my passion to advance my career and expand my skills to be the best legal assistant for my team.

What is a favorite book, podcast, movie, or restaurant you have enjoyed lately?

I occasionally listen to true crime podcasts, I love watching true crime documentaries and I really enjoy reading mystery/thriller books. My favorite author is Frieda McFadden, she has a lot of great plot twist books that are very entertaining to read.
