Meet Jimmie Johnson

Tell us about your role at BoyarMiller.

As the Office Services Manager, I take care of everybody in the office. I’m always there to lend a helping hand. I enjoy that every day is going to be something different when I come in. Two days are never the same and I enjoy that.

How did you start working at BoyarMiller?

BoyarMiller had a contract with Ricoh. Jimmie became a floater where he would work on different contracts. When Jimmie was on the contract for BoyarMiller, it was a perfect match from the start. BoyarMiller made the relationship official by offering a full-time position and the rest was history.

Can you share a memorable professional experience that has shaped your career?

I had previously worked in law firms before BoyarMiller but had never worked in a corporate law firm. To say I was nervous on my first day is an understatement. I was going around picking up the mail and I was walking by Gary Miller’s office and the first thing I called him was “Mr. Gary”.  But Gary quickly corrected me and said, “don’t call me Mr.” That small comment made a lasting impact on me because it let me know that I wouldn’t be looked at any differently just because I am not an attorney. It was a warm welcome in a new environment that made me feel comfortable and part of the BoyarMiller family.

Tell us something people might not know about you.

I always had an ear for music. In elementary school, I played the trumpet for 4 years. Then in middle school and high school, I switched and played the cello. Towards the end of high school, I had an aspiring rap career that ended as quickly as it started. You could call me a musician and songwriter.

What is a favorite book, podcast, movie or restaurant you have enjoyed lately?

I am not a sit-down and watch-a-movie kind of guy. So, when a movie like “They Cloned Tyrone” can hold my attention and make me laugh that is a double thumbs up from me.
