Represented the owner of a shopping mall in connection with lawsuit brought by tenant seeking a writ of reentry into the leased premises following repossession by owner. Successfully defended the application for reentry and obtained judgment for recovery of attorneys’ fees for filing lawsuit in bad faith.

Ongoing representation of a regional technology focused venture capital company in its acquisition and sale of interests in numerous portfolio companies.

Represented a domestic drilling contractor in connection with $120,000,000 financing and acquisition of oil and gas drilling rigs.

Acquisitions, financings, and restructuring of multiple long-term acute care and skilled nursing facilities in Washington, D.C., including private/public partnership for short-term acute care facility

Represented a Texas-based oilfield services company in connection with investments in manufacturing facilities in Taiwan and America Samoa.

Represented a nonprofit hospital system in the sale of two multi-building hospital facilities and related medical office buildings in the Rio Grande Valley.

Represented the buyer of a national chain of dollar stores in Harris County, Texas. Responsible for drafting ancillary documents, due diligence regarding the property and handling the closing.

Won a unanimous decision from the Texas Supreme Court on behalf of a major water bottling company in a dispute against land owners concerning the alleged drainage of an aquifer. The trial court granted a summary judgment at the lower court level, rejecting plaintiff’s attempt to obtain an injunction to halt the production of spring water from client’s largest water source.

Texas counsel for Houston-based construction company on numerous matters including contract litigation.

Tax aspects of ownership and financing of master planned communities including Long Meadow Farms, Gleannloch Farms, Caracol Coastal and Fulbrook on Fulsher Creek

Counseled the sponsor/seller in connection with the sale of equity interests in the owners of a 25-property portfolio of medical office properties across 14 states

Successfully represented a development company in an arbitration proceeding to remove a $500,000 mechanic’s lien recorded by a contractor against the property.
